Kety, Seymour Solomon

Kety, Seymour Solomon

(1915– ) neuroscientist; born in Philadelphia. He spent most of his professional career at the National Institutes of Mental Health, where he became a senior scientist in 1983. In the 1940s he developed the methods for measuring cerebral metabolism and blood flow. In 1953, he and coworkers produced the first autoradiographic images of cerebral blood flow. He also made major contributions in the study of biological aspects of schizophrenia.
