Karenga

a river in Chita Oblast, RSFSR, right tributary of the Vitim River (Lena Basin). Length, 366 km; basin area, 10, -100 sq km. It rises in the Iablonovyi Range and flows throughan intermontane basin. It is fed primarily by rain. The averageflow rate is 16.5 cu m per sec, 180 km from its mouth. It is atflood stage from May to September, with sharp variations inwater level. The river freezes over at the end of November andthaws in mid-April.
