Karkinitskii

a bay of the Black Sea between the north westcoast of the Crimean Peninsula and the continent. It extends118.5 km inland. In the western part it reaches a depth of 36 m;and in the eastern, approximately 10 m. In severe winters thesurface freezes over. The ports of Skadovsk and Khorly aresituated on its shores.
