Katav-Ivanovsk

a city in Cheliabinsk Oblast, RSFSR, located on the Katav River in the Ufa basin. Population, 20, 000 (1970).

Katav-Ivanovsk is the terminal station of a 36-km branch of the Ufa-Cheliabinsk railroad line. It has a cement plant, a casting works, and a lumber industry. A mechanical technicum is located in the city. Katav-Ivanovsk was founded in the mid-18th century and became a city in 1939.
