Location:On Oahu's north shore in Haleiwa.
Facilities:Visitor contact station.
Activities:Educational tours (by prior arrangement).
Special Features:The refuge encompasses Punanmano Pond, a naturally occurring, spring-fed marsh, and manmade ponds formerly used as sugar cane waste settling basins.
Habitats: 164 acres made up of a mix of naturally occurring spring-fed marsh and man-made ponds and impoundments.
Access: The public is welcome from the third Saturday in October through the third Saturday in February. Guided tours are also available, contact office for dates and times.
Wild life: Endangered Hawaiian moorhen, Hawaiian coot, and Hawaiian stilt. Also provides habitat for the Koloa (Hawaiian duck) and black-crowned night herons.
