Buslaev, Iurii Aleksandrovich

 

Born Nov. 22, 1929, in Syzran’. Soviet inorganic chemist; corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1968). Member of the CPSU since 1959.

Buslaev graduated from the Moscow D. I. Mendeleev Chemical Engineering Institute in 1952. He has worked in the N. S. Kurnakov Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR since 1952. His principal works are devoted to the chemistry of transitional metals, the synthesis of their complex compounds, multiple bonds in inorganic chemistry, polymerization of inorganic compounds, and obtaining new classes of refractory substances.
