Juazeiro do Norte

a city in northeastern Brazil, in the state of Ceará. Population, 71,400 (1967). It has a railroad station and an airport. It is a center of carnauba wax production and is the site of facilities of the food, textile, tobacco, and woodworking industries; handmade gold items are produced there. Juazeiro do Norte is an important trade center.
