Iurumkuveem
Iurumkuveem
(in the lower course, Belaia), a river in Magadan Oblast, RSFSR; a left tributary of the Anadyr’ River. The Iurumkuveem is 487 km long and drains an area of 44,700 sq km. It rises on the northern Anadyr’ Plateau. It is fed mainly by snow. In summer there are numerous freshets resulting from rain. The river freezes over in late October or early November, and the ice breaks up in early June. The river’s main left tributaries are the Bol’shoi Pykarvaam, the Chaavaam, and Bol’shaia Osinovaia; its principal right tributary is the Enmyvaam. The Iurumkuveem is a spawning ground for salmon.
