Karl Marx Peak

a mountain peak in the southwest Pamirs; the highest point in the Shakhdar’ia Range, TadzhikSSR. It rises to an elevation of 6, 726 m and has a glacier thatcovers an area of 120 sq km. The first ascent of the peak wasmade by a team of Soviet climbers in 1946.
