Ivan Mikhailovich Sadovskii

Sadovskii, Ivan Mikhailovich

 

Born 1855 in the village of Stepanovka, Sumy District, Kharkov Province; died 1911 in St. Petersburg. Russian veterinary anatomist, surgeon, and epizootiologist. Professor (1890).

In 1879, Sadovskii graduated from the Kharkov Veterinary Institute. He became director of the Warsaw Veterinary Institute in 1904 and head of the laboratory of the Veterinary Administration of the Ministry of the Interior in St. Petersburg in 1907.

Sadovskii’s principal works dealt with the topographical anatomy of domestic animals, rabies, glanders, anthrax, actinomycosis, and other infectious diseases affecting animals.
