Kenyon, Josephine Hemenway

(1880–1965) pediatrician, columnist; born in Auburn, N.Y. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University Medical School (1904) in a class of 3 women and 42 men. While maintaining a private practice in New York City (1911–45) she was active in the Young Women's Christian Association during World War I. She wrote a monthly column on child care for Good Housekeeping (1924–52) and the book Healthy Babies Are Happy Babies (1934). She gave thorough information to her readers, but still urged them to see their own pediatricians regularly.
