Jungermanniidae

[‚jəŋ·gər′man·ə‚dē] (botany) A subclass of liverworts of the class Hepticopsida, division Bryophyta, distinguished by little or no tissue differentiation or organized into erect or prostrate stems with leafy appendages, leaves generally one cell in thickness and mostly arranged in three rows, with the third row of under-leaves commonly reduced or even lacking, and oil bodies usually present in all cells.
