a city in Moscow Oblast, RSFSR. Located on the Ucha River, a tributary of the Kliaz’ma, 35 km northeast of Moscow. Ivanteevka is a railroad station on the Bolshevo-Friazino branch line. Population, 36,000 (1970). There is a knitwear factory, established in 1926, and a cotton-spinning factory, dating from 1931, in the city, as well as a special industrial-equipment plant and an experimental factory of the Scientific Research Institute of the Construction of Tractors and Agricultural Machines. Ivanteevka has a technicum of mechanical technology. The city was first referred to in 1586, when it was a village belonging to the St. Sergius Trinity Monastery; it became a city in 1938.
