Karl Theodor Von Inama-Sternegg
Inama-Sternegg, Karl Theodor Von
Born Jan. 20, 1843, in Augsburg; died Nov. 28, 1908, in Innsbruck. Austro-German economic historian and statistician.
Inama-Sternegg was a professor at universities in Innsbruck, Prague, and Vienna. In 1881 he became director of the Bureau of Statistics in Vienna and in 1884 president of the Austrian Central Statistical Commission. In his theoretical views he aligned himself with the historical school of political economy. In words dealing with the economic history of medieval Germany, he gave an extended formulation of the patrimonial-estate theory in its most scientifically progressive form, combining the theory with a number of propositions of the communal theory.
