iPhone 5C

iPhone 5C

An entry-level iPhone 5 smartphone, introduced in September 2013 along with the 5s. The 5c featured iOS 7, a completely redesigned OS for the first time since the iPhone's debut in 2007 (see iOS versions). Available in a pink, green, blue, white or yellow plastic case, the 5c was on par with the iPhone 5; for example, it used the same A6 chip. The 5c included new features such as a larger battery, improved FaceTime camera and a panorama photo mode. Offered with 16GB or 32GB storage, the 5c used the traditional iPhone home button and not the Touch ID fingerprint reader in the 5s. It also used a Nano SIM card, rather than the Micro SIM in previous iPhones. See iPhone 5s.

The Colorful 5c
The 5c was available in several colors and offered performance like the iPhone 5, which was a major improvement over the 4s. (Image courtesy of Apple, Inc.)
