Iverson, Ken (Francis Kenneth)

(1925– ) industrialist; born in Downers Grove, Ill. He worked in industrial research, technology, and marketing before joining what became Nucor Corporation (1962) (president and CEO 1965–85, chairman and CEO 1985). His introduction of high technology in the first U.S. "mini"steel mill in Darlington, S.C. (1969) and in an innovative flat-rolled steel plant (1989) revitalized the American steel industry.
