Myshkin, Nikolai Filippovich

 

Born 1864; died 1948. Soviet veterinarian.

Myshkin graduated from the Iur’ev (Dorpat) Veterinary Institute in 1891. He became a professor in 1919. That same year, at the Moscow Veterinary Institute, he organized and became head of the first subdepartment of veterinary obstetrics in the USSR. Myshkin developed an effective method for the clinical diagnosis of the early stages of pregnancy in cows. Use of this method became widespread in USSR veterinary practice.
