nonresetting fire detectors

A fire detector that, once activated, does not reset itself to operate again. The fire-warning light once on will remain on even when the fire has gone out. The detector senses the fire, as it is activated by the high temperature. This completes the electrical circuit and activates the fire-warning light and the audio-warning circuit, if provided. This type of fire detector is used rarely these days.
