Microsoft store

(1) (online) The Microsoft Store is the company's online store for Windows applications, Xbox consoles and games, PCs and Surface hardware. Formerly Windows Store, in 2016, Microsoft merged its online stores into the Microsoft Store. It is also the successor to the Windows Marketplace site.

(2) (bricks and mortar) A Microsoft-owned retail outlet. The first stores opened in Scottsdale, Arizona and Mission Viejo, California in late 2009. As of 2019, there are more than a hundred stores worldwide. Demos and technical assistance are available, along with hands-on testing of PCs, smartphones, tablets, Xboxes, software and related products.
