Minachev, Khabib Minachevich
Born Dec 11 (24), 1908, in the village of Novye Bikshiki, now in lal’chiki Raion, Chuvash ASSR. Soviet organic chemist. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1972). Member of the CPSU since 1944.
Upon graduating from Moscow State University in 1939, Minachev began working at the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. In 1963 he became head of one of the institute’s laboratories. His main works are devoted to the study of catalytic transformations of hydrocarbons, particularly those with catalysts based on metals from group VIII of the periodic table, on zeolites, and on oxides of rare-earth metals. Minachev has been awarded two orders and various medals.
