Loi Royer Loi RoyerLegislation in France, passed in 1973, limiting the physical size of some businesses. Among other provisions, it required a special permit for businesses larger than 1,000 square meters in towns with fewer than 40,000 residents and 1,500 square meters in larger towns. The intent of the law was to protect small grocers from supermarkets, which were thought to be encroaching at the time. |
