Khamza

 

(until 1963, the settlement of Vannovskii, from 1963 to 1974, the settlement of Khamza Khakimzade), a city in Altyaryk Raion, Fergana Oblast, Uzbek SSR. Khamza has a railroad station (Altyaryk) on the Kokand-Andizhan line. Industry includes the Altyaryk Fuel Plant and a workshop for the production of wadding. Khamza was named in honor of the Uzbek play wright and poet Khamza Khakimzade Niiazi.
