a river in Sverdlovsk Oblast, RSFSR, a right tributary of the Tura River (Ob’ River basin). The Nitsa is formed at the confluence of the Neiva and Rezh rivers. It is 262 km long (556 km, if its largest component, the Neiva River, is included) and drains an area of 22,300 sq km.

The Nitsa flows through the Western Siberian Plain. It is fed by mixed sources, primarily snow. The mean flow rate at the city of Irbit (165 km from the river’s mouth) is 42.5 cu m per sec. The Nitsa freezes over in late October or early November and thaws in late April. It is navigable.
