Kharkov Astronomical Observatory

a research institution of the University of Kharkov. Originally founded as an astronomy teaching facility (1808), the present observatory was organized in 1888 under the direction of G. V. Levitskii. The observatory studies the sun’s chromosphere and photosphere and physical conditions on the planets.
