Nizhnekartli Plain

 

a plain in the Georgian SSR between the spurs of the Trialeti and Somkheti ranges. Most of the plain extends along the Khrami and Algeti rivers. It includes the left bank of the Kura River at the city of Rustavi. The plain measures 65 km long and up to 35 km wide. Elevations range from 250 to 400 m. Composed of alluvial-proluvial and alluvial deposits, the plain supports viticulture and horticulture.
