Nizhniaia Toima
a river in Arkhangel’sk Oblast, RSFSR; a right tributary of the Severnaia Dvina. It is 165 km long and drains an area of 1,740 sq km. The Nizhniaia Toima flows through a hilly plain. It is fed predominantly by snow. The mean flow rate 37 km from the mouth of the river is approximately 17 cu m per sec. The river freezes over in November and thaws in late April or May. It is used for floating timber.
