Khust
a city (since 1946) and the administrative center of Khust Raion, Transcarpathian Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Khust is situated at the place where the Rika River flows into the Tisa. The city has a railroad station on the Batevo-Solotvina line. Industry is represented by the Tereblia-Rika Hydroelectric Power Plant, a lumber combine, an experimental stone-processing plant, a ceramics plant, a building-materials plant, a felt factory, food-processing enterprises, a footwear factory, and a factory for the production of objets d’art. Educational institutions include a lumber industry technicum, a medical school, and a school of cultural education. The city has a historical-revolutionary museum and a tourist center.
