Khvostov, Aleksandr Alekseevich
Born 1857; date of death unknown. Russian state figure.
A graduate of the Aleksandrovskii Lycée, Khvostov owned land in Orel Province. He joined the staff of the Ministry of the Interior in 1895, and from 1900 to 1905 he was director of the economics department. Khvostov became a senator in 1906 and a member of the Council of State in 1912; he was a leader of the right wing. He was appointed minister of justice in July 1915. Khvostov served as minister of the interior in 1916 from July 7 until September 16, when he was replaced by A. D. Protopopov.
