Leatherine

a cotton fabric, one side of which is coated with a colored opaque elastic film composed of plasticized nitrocellulose, fillers, and pigments. It is made from bleached, raw, or dyed material, usually calico. Leatherine has an attractive, glossy surface with a clearly defined stamped design. It is used as a binding material in the printing industry.
