Measuring Grid

a network of lines forming squares of specified dimensions, drawn on transparent paper, glass, or a celluloid sheet and used to determine the area of segments on a map or chart. Grids are also made with other geometric lines, selected for specific purposes. The simplest graph procedure for numerical integration is carried out with measuring grids.
