Malone, Moses (Eugene)

(1954– ) basketball player; born in Petersburg, Va. He came right out of high school into professional basketball at age 19. After playing two years in the American Basketball Association (1974–75), he played center for the National Basketball Association (NBA) Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Bullets, Atlanta Hawks, and Milwaukee Bucks and won the Most Valuable Player award three times (1979, 1982, 1983). An outstanding rebounder, he holds the NBA's alltime offensive rebound record and is the fourth highest alltime point scorer.
