Special Features:Site is the location of the final encampment of George Washington's army. It was from here that cease-fire orders were issued on April 19, 1783, ending the eight-year War of Independence. The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor is located here also, and the site played a central role in the history of the Purple Heart.
