Activities:Boating, canoeing, fishing, ice fishing, hunting, educational programs.
Special Features:Refuge was designated a Globally Important Bird Area and a Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network site, because of its importance as both a breeding and migratory stopover for more than 20,000 shorebirds annually.
Habitats: 22,300 acres of lake bottom, rolling prairie, and cultivated uplands.
Access: Open during daylight hours.
Wild life: Canada geese, pintail, mallard, ring-necked pheasants, snowy owl, sandhill cranes, white-tailed deer, coyote, fox, rabbits, mink, and badger.
