Lecher wires

Lecher wires

[′lek·ər ‚wīrz] (electromagnetism) Two parallel wires that are several wavelengths long and a small fraction of a wavelength apart, used to measure the wavelength of a microwave source that is connected to one end of the wires; a shorting bar which slides along the wires is used to determine the position of standing-wave nodes. Also known as Lecher line; Lecher wire wavemeter.
