Nelgese
Nel’gese
(also Nelgese, Nel’gekhe), a river in the Yakut ASSR, a left tributary of the Adycha River (Iana River basin). The river measures 566 km in length and drains an area of 15,200 sq km. The Nel’gese rises in the Verkhoiansk Range and flows primarily across the lana Plateau. It is fed by snow and rain. The mean flow rate 14 km from the mouth is 38.4 cu m per sec. The river begins to freeze in late September or in October and is frozen completely from December through April; the ice breaks up in May.
