Kim Pu-Sik

 

(also Kim Pusik). Born 1075; died 1151. Korean statesman and historian.

Kim Pu-sik came from an aristocratic family. He held the post of prime minister and was the chief historiographer in the Koryo state. Kim Pu-sik is the author of Samguk sagi (History of the Three Kingdoms), which covers the history of Silla, Koguryo, and Paekche to the beginning of the tenth century. It is the earliest extant work of Korean historiography.
