Lee, Rex E.

(1935– ) lawyer, university president; born in Los Angeles, Calif. He practiced with Jennings, Strouss & Salmon (1964–72) and was founding dean of Brigham Young University's law school (1972–81). He was the U.S. Solicitor General (1981–85). He solidified his reputation as the premier constitutional lawyer while practicing with Sidley & Austin in Washington, D.C. (1985–89), before becoming president of Brigham Young University (1989).
