mammary fistula

The communication of a mammary duct with the skin surface, which is regarded as the final step in mammary duct-associated inflammatory disease sequence. Most patients with mammary fistulae are smokers.
Management
Fistulectomy and saucerisation achieves long-term cure in most patients with mammary duct fistula, but results in some degree of nipple distortion.
