a blowing murmur heard late in pregnancy and during lactation at the medial border of the breast, sometimes only systolic and sometimes continuous.

An innocent systolic or continuous cardiac murmur of presumed arterial origin heard during late pregnancy or in the early postpartum period, which is differentiated from pathologic lesions as it is unaffected by the Valsalva manoeuvre.
