Longyear City

the administrative center on the island of Vestspitsbergen (Norway) in the Arctic Ocean. Situated on Advent Bay, an arm of Is Fjord. Its population, numberingapproximately 1,200, increases significantly during the navigation season. The settlement is a coal mining and export center.
