Medgidia

a city in Rumania, in Constanta District. Population, 33,600 (1970). Medgidia is a transportation junction and one of the centers for the country’s construction materials production, an industry established there during the years of the people’s rule. A machinery plant (spare parts for automobiles and trucks, tractors, and agricultural machinery; reed-harvesting equipment) and food industry enterprises are there.
