No longer having a debt owed to one or more other people, corporations, banks, etc. Used especially in reference to a company. I'm hoping that a positive reception to our new product could help pull us out of the red for this financial year. I've got a few ideas to get us out of the red, but they require a few big sacrifices on our part.See also: of, out, red
