medial tibial ligament

A broad, flat longitudinal ligament attached superiorly to the medial epichondyle of the femur, inherently to the medial meniscus, and inferiorly to the medial surface of the body of the tibia.
 
Function
Provides medial stability to knee joint.

(mē'dē-ăl kŏ-lat'ĕr-ăl lig'ă-mĕnt) A broad, flat band attached superiorly to the medial condyle of the femur and inferiorly to the medial condyle of the tibia; stabilizes the knee joint medially, resisting valgus stress.
Synonym(s): tibial collateral ligament.
