legal deposit library

one of the designated libraries that is to receive a copy of every book published in the UK. The British Library receives one as of right, the others on request: National Libraries of Scotland and Wales, and the university libraries of Oxford, Cambridge and Trinity College Dublin. There is now power for non-print, especially electronic publications to become part of the national archive.
