OVERDUE. A bill, note, bond or other contract, for the payment of money at a particular day, when not paid upon the day, is overdue.

For example, if the electric bill is due on the 15th and one still has not paid it on the 18th, the electric bill is overdue. Persistently allowing liabilities to become overdue may result in late fees and reduced creditworthiness.
