Kirensk

a city, center of Kirensk Raion, Irkutsk Oblast, RSFSR. A port on the Lena River, it is situated at the point where the Kirenga River joins the Lena, 300 km northeast of the Lena railroad station. It has a shipyard and a woodworking combine. A city since 1775, Kirensk also has a museum of local lore and a pedagogical school.
