Special Features:The desert of northeastern Utah is a harsh environment, where less than 8 inches of rain falls per year. But the Green River transports water from the mountains of Wyoming to the area and as a result thousands of waterfowl, songbirds and other wildlife flock to the river.
Habitats: 11,987 acres along a 12-mile stretch of the Green River. Habitats nclude river, riparian woodlands, wetlands, artificial impoundments, croplands, semidesert shrublands, grasslands, and clay bluffs.
Access: Open during daylight hours.
Wild life: Three endangered fish--Colorado pikeminnow, bonytail, and humpback chub, as well as beaver, muskrat, river otter, waterfowl, cottontail rabbits, raccoons, mule deer, elk, bobcats, bald and golden eagles, great horned owls and hawks.
