mucinous cystadenocarcinoma

mucinous cystadenocarcinoma

Appendix
A malignant mucinous (epithelial) tumour that is usually well-differentiated (so much so that it may be difficult to differentiate from appendicial adenoma with dilation, wall-thinning and rupture) and characterised by evidence of wall invasion, peritoneal extension (often initially presenting with pseudomyxoma peritonei) and late nodal metastases; it is staged using the TNM system. 10% of appendiceal adenocarcinomas present with a simultaneous colorectal carcinoma, and some are signet ring cell carcinomas.
Ovary
A malignancy thought to arise from ovarian epithelium, which comprises 5% of ovarian cancers.

Clinical findings
Symptoms may be nonspecific (e.g., abdominal pain, abdominal mass, bloating, back pain, urinary urgency, constipation, exhaustion) or specific (e.g., pelvic pain, abnormal vaginal bleeding, involuntary weight loss and ascites, a sign of advanced disease).
