Neogeic

the last major stage in the tectonic development of the earth’s crust, embracing the late Proterozoic and the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic. The term was proposed by the German geologist H. Stille in 1964 in contradistinction to Protogeic. The Neogeic is characterized by large stable blocks of ancient platforms and the geosynclinal belts and oceans dividing the blocks.
