Location:About 5 miles southwest of Houma, Louisiana.
Activities:Hunting (with restrictions), fishing, boating, canoeing.
Special Features:The refuge is composed primarily of freshwater marsh, which provides important habitat for wintering waterfowl of the Mississippi flyway.
Habitats: 4,212 acres of freshwater marsh with ponds, levees, and manmade canals.
Access: By boat only; open year round.
Wild life: Migrating waterfowl. Also alligators, wading birds, and bald eagles.
